Lempäälä municipal board will address significant real estate transactions and zoning matters in its February meeting. The municipality proposes to purchase the Toivola farm in Kuljus for 199,200 euros and to sell back the Hulikankulma industrial plot for 45,120 euros. Additionally, a building ban in Sääksjärvi center is proposed to be extended by five years to secure future development plans.

Lempäälä Community Development Board put the draft building code on public display. The new code would significantly ease permit requirements – among other things, the construction of noise barriers, transformer stations, solar panels, and certain repair work would be exempt from permits. The board also approved the paving contract option for 2026 for Peab Industri Oy and supported changes to Valkeakoski public transport, but opposed the discontinuation of route 63.

The municipality can now relocate unlawfully parked vehicles and charge a fee for this service. A new prison for Pirkanmaa region will be built in Lempäälä - the municipal board approved the reservation of a 39-hectare area in the Hulikankkulma industrial area. The project will employ 100 people immediately in the initial phase and up to 400 after the second phase. At the same time, the municipality will introduce micromobility permits for electric scooters from the beginning of 2026 and approves a two-year principal payment holiday for the swimming hall's investment loans.

Lempäälä Municipal Board overturned the officials' recommendation and granted a building permit for Kerttulankaari 20 by a vote of 7-4, despite officials opposing the project citing non-compliance with the zoning plan.
