Lempäälä's Aleksanteri Aava statue gets a new home - the municipality's cultural symbol will be moved to the corner of Aavankatu and Puistokatu at the end of a residential apartment building. Rural services paid over 60 million euros in various subsidies to its customers last year.

The Lempäälä Education and Teaching Committee decided to increase morning and afternoon activity fees by 23 percent starting from August – the fee will rise from 120 euros to 148 euros. At the same time, four class teacher positions and four school assistant positions were left unfilled due to declining student numbers. The financial problems are reflected in the committee's requirement for monthly financial reporting going forward to control the situation.
