Lempäälä approved a new municipal strategy "Lempäälä Close to You" for the years 2026-2035, emphasizing proximity of services and smooth everyday life. After debate, the council also approved by a vote of 39-3 the Haurala zoning plan, which enables the construction of 54 single-family homes and brings 380 new residents to the area - however, the building guidelines were returned for further preparation. Significant changes also included administrative regulation updates, where the senior council's representation in committees will be examined in the spring.

Lempäälä municipal council addressed historic decisions in October: the municipality established Kuntakiinteistöt Oy to transfer social and healthcare properties to a new company and simultaneously granted a 1.4 million euro loan guarantee to the water company. The property tax on undeveloped plots remained high at 6 percent by a vote of 25-17, despite strong opposition pressure to reduce the tax to 3 percent.
