Lempäälä Community Development Board will address significant procurements and zoning plans in its June meeting. The winter maintenance contract for 2026-2029 is proposed to be divided into ten areas among different operators with total annual costs of 618,000 euros. Additionally, an update to the building regulations is proposed for approval, which will ease permit requirements for solar panels and small storage facilities, among others. Roof repairs for the Pajamuse and Parturimuse museums on Museoraide are elevated to urgent investments with 50,000 euros.

The Municipal Board will discuss several multi-million project proposals tomorrow. The most significant is the selection of the main contractor for the 6.8 million euro basic renovation of Hakkari school, where SRV is proposed. Additionally, it is proposed to award the 1.9 million euro infrastructure construction contract for the Punaportti area to GRK Suomi Oy. At the same time, the controversial conversion of a holiday home to year-round residence on Matinlahdentie will be addressed - officials recommend rejecting the application due to distance and scattered development concerns.

Lempäälä Community Development Board put the draft building code on public display. The new code would significantly ease permit requirements – among other things, the construction of noise barriers, transformer stations, solar panels, and certain repair work would be exempt from permits. The board also approved the paving contract option for 2026 for Peab Industri Oy and supported changes to Valkeakoski public transport, but opposed the discontinuation of route 63.

Lempäälä Municipal Board overturned the officials' recommendation and granted a building permit for Kerttulankaari 20 by a vote of 7-4, despite officials opposing the project citing non-compliance with the zoning plan. At the same time, the municipality raised several fees by 5-6 percent and decided to introduce micromobility permits for electric scooters in January 2026.

Lempäälä council approved the 7 million euro renovation of Hakkari school by a vote of 33-10, despite the Greens' attempt to return the matter for further preparation due to additional investigations. The municipality's building stock repair debt is 25 million euros and is growing recklessly without systematic maintenance. The municipality will transition to a new property management system in 2025 to better control the condition level and repair needs of buildings.
